About Me

My name is David Shephard, and lilyboys.com is my motorcycle blog. I started lilyboys.com in April 2009 because I felt there was a need to address a different audience, a growing demographic of soft-handed bikers, men and women, who care less about horsepower, torque and tatoos. Individuals who you would have never guessed rode a motorcycle. Who feel uncomfortable with the “biker” stigma and felt a lack of representation. Individuals who care about living and eating healthy and seeking life’s great pleasures, all from the saddle of a motorcycle. I was having trouble connecting with sites out there that appealed to me. So, I decided to start my own.

I reside in Toronto, Canada with my wife and 2 daughters. I am the founder and managing director of a design & advertising agency. I started riding in my 29th year by getting my license, buying a 1987 BMW K75s, shipping it to Paris, and touring Europe–all within 6 weeks. I’ve been riding 11 years since.

BTW - I am not a paid blogger, so if I mention products or services in my entries that’s because I have either experienced them first-hand or one of the Lily gang is actually using them. However, we are more than happy to review products if samples are sent to us.

About My Motorcycle

I’ve had 6 motorcycles in my short riding career and my current ride is a 2007 BMW R1200 GS. I bought the bike used with 6000 kms on it. It belonged to a hotel executive who died suddenly of a heart attack. Out of respect, I rode it for a whole year before I removed the stickers he had placed on the back of the panniers.

My dream is to turn my passion into a luxury motorcycle touring company. I hope people will connect with my site. Feel free to contact me or comment on my posts at any time.
