Long truck ride to Portaria

Yes, I wrote truck ride! The Lilyboys are on the move again and are touring Northern Greece. We had a small hiccup today as our delivery of fresh BMW touring bikes from Munich were delayed by half a day. It has been raining nonstop all day and even though we were mentally prepared for a 6 hour ride to Portaria via Delphi and spectacular seaside scenery, we had one small problem — no bikes to ride!

We had reserved our bikes from Sergios at MotoGreek in Munich and he drove 22 hours (God bless him) to our hotel in Portaria to deliver them. Unfortunately, the heavy rain shut down some major routes and delayed his arrival in Athens. So, instead of sitting in rainy Athens we opted to rent a small van with all of our gear and haul ass to our first destination to meet up with the bikes, as our hotels were pre-paid.

The drive up the eastern coast was rushed and unfortunately we missed a couple of really important historic sites like the Hot Gates (Thermopylae), and Delphi.

The official ride begins tomorrow and we will be exploring the twisty roads of this mountain village near Volos.
